REMOBILIZE INDIA

During my family's recent trip to Mumbai, India, it was nearly impossible to not notice people living in poverty camping out on the streets begging for food, water, money, and clothing, things that many of us take for granted.  However, I found it most upsetting was that a large number of these people were disabled. That is why I decided to create remobilize India. Remobilize India's main goal is to rehabilitate people in need of prosthetics.

Today, better quality prosthetics are hard to come by in India. Only the upper class can import quality prosthetics from other countries. In addition, even the best prosthetic only lasts for 3-5 years.  A 21 century approached, more affordable option needs to be introduced. 

In order to change this situation, manufacturing of quality prosthetics needs to be moved into India. This will reduce the cost of prosthetics as there will no longer be the need for major import and shipping costs. One way this can be achieved is by way of 3-D printing. Recent studies show that 3-D printing will be the most practical option.

This product will help contribute to create employment for those in need of prosthetics. This will create a cycle: a product created by those using the prosthetics for those in need of prosthetics. Also, it will lift many families out of poverty in order for them to lead more comfortable lives. 

An immediate action must be taken to adress problem as it gets worse every day. This issue is not considered a top priority in India; causing for more people to be forced into poverty every day, which could easily be avoided if people were to take action in aiding these fellow amputees to be remobilized.
